The main objective of this Annex is to bring the carbon dioxide (CO2) heat pumping technology closer to practical use, by addressing critical issues of both basic and applied character.

The Annex will focus solely on CO2 as working fluid in compression systems. Thus, the Annex becomes a natural follow-up of Annex 22, with a more concentrated focus.

The Annex Participants will contribute to the Annex by gathering relevant information, establishing and monitoring prototype- and demonstration plants, undertaking research and development projects, and participating in two (three) workshops.

In addition to general administration, the Operating Agent is responsible for periodic reports to the Executive Committee, production of the final report as well as organization of workshops and co-ordination of research, development and demonstration activities.
